Well you will all be glad that we moved on from our quad. We had so much trouble with it we decided to get this castle stove. Question is, we need a flexible exhaust because its offset from where our old stove hook up directly to our chimney. I believe selkirk makes this flexible stainless pipe. can anyone tell us which ends we need or an adapter? seems like we are working with two ends that are the same...and the selkirk piece doesnt look right to me? any help would be awesome, we are looking forward to no issues this year!!

Most people put a raised hearth to bring the stove up to the pipe

This is a very tall stove compared to the quad. Quads exhaust was high and in the center. This stove is low and off to the left. If we raised it to meet current exhaust pipe it would be way to high . My wife wouldn't be able to lift a bag that high. Plus we'd like it centered

The stove would be into the wall if we lined it up to our current set up and not look right.

I've read about flex adapters just not sure exactly what to purchase. If anyone knows if any we would appreciate it. This piping isn't cheap! Only want to buy once :)

I don't see any floor protection this is what the manual says

Floor Protection RequirementsThe stove must be installed on a noncombustible floor, withproper floor protection, or on a masonry hearth. When a cleanout t-vent is installed in the inside of a home, the floor protectormust extend 2” beyond rear of t-vent. SEE FIGURE 1. When stoveis vented straight through the wall and the clean out t-vent is onthe exterior of the home, the minimum clearance is 2” from theback of the stove to the wall. SEE FIGURE 2. The minimum floorprotector material is 24 GA sheet metal

Ok. We'll save up for a hearth I guess, we ran our quad in same spot for over a decade. Back to our original question any help or info on the original question? As far as mating the two with a flex pipe. Our room is small I believe a flex pipe of some sort would help with keeping stove closer to corner wall vs connecting a bunch of pipe that would push it out into our room. The black exhaust pipe won't come down any further. Only up. It was perfect for our quad but not this stove :(
