Do you let it get before you light a fire? my G/F gets cold very easily so we light a fire when it gets into the 40's. Plus we just love the fire. I admit that it sometimes gets hot in here, but the G/F likes it!!

HOWEVER, If the house gets down to the mid 60's and the outside temps aren't expected to go past 60 during the day chances are I'm gonna be burnin' some boxelder or some such lightweight wood.
I keep the oak, hickory, apple, ash, walnut, cherry, and elm for when it's get cold!

Outside temps also don't mean much to me. Its the inside temps that dictate whether a fire is lit or not in our house. If it gets much below 64-65F, then I'll light a fire.
