How far can upholstered chair be from jotul gf 200 dv?

Hi all,

I have a propane powered jotul gf 200 dv and I’d like to position a chair to the side of it. How close can I safely have it? The manual is a little confusing but it seems like 3” from the sides is stated. That seems fairly close but when I put my hand that close it is not very hot so I could see it being OK. However nowhere in the manual does it seem to mention distance from the front of the stove. If the chair is at an angle and partly juts out in front of the stove, it is much warmer there.
