Hello,

Another newbie question....

How far is your wall thermostat mounted from your gas fireplace? My instructions say "don't mount thermostat near fireplace", but it does not say how far is considered too close! Can anyone help?

Thanks much,
Bucky

Put it in the space you want to regulate the heat, but not directly near the fireplace or in the line of fire from the blower. Also avoid putting it on an outside wall if possible, it will skew your temp readings a lot. A strategic stat location is only relevant if you want to use the fireplace as a zone heater and not just for ambiance. Probably 90% of our customers just want a fireplace for the effect. If they put out no heat at all they would be happier because they could run them all day!
