How Hot Should I Run a Century FW300010 Stove?

Finally installed a Century FW3000010 (2000 sq') stove. I've got it fired up and am using a temp gage on the stove pipe about four inches above the top of the stove. How hot do you all run? I'm trying to built a nice base of hot coals for the reload, but as a new guy, I want to make sure I am safe. Right now I'm running about 500f or so. Temp gauge calls 300-575 a good burn range, but I have seen posts where people burned hotter. Any suggestions?

I've had mine full and hot and never any problems or glowing red. The things are engineered well.

Move the flue thermometer to about 18" above the stove top.
