How hot should the exterior of the pellet burner get?

Rookie user new install. Breckwell SP1002. Feed rate setting is 3 of 5. Nice clean burn. Front half of each side of the pellet burner gets hot, left about 190 degrees F right about 235 using a non contact thermometer. No other hot spots.

Normal? Not sure why one side would be so much hotter than the other.

depends on the brand. some get piping hot others you can lay a hand on when its on high

one side is hotter because the incoming air blower is on that side and on the other side you have your exhaust blower.

Front of mine gets hot. The sides temp depends on the design of the stove.

I can easily put my hand on the top.

I have chili simmering on top of my PC45. The air coming out the front is almost 300 degrees. Feels nice at zero!
