first day with a full burn going in a montpelier insert, want to test overnight burn time....do you squeeze as much as you can in? should it touch the top? just curious how tight i can pack a stove, this is my first............
If it's your first day, you might want to do an "overnight" burn during the day when you are home. You won't sleep well thinking about what the stove is doing and be hopping up every hour or so.
I wouldn't trust an overnight burn until I knew how the stove performed. Each stove burns differently due to everything from the chimney to the amount of wind blowing over it. Experience is the only thing that will teach you how much you can put in the stove.
Given how warm it is I'd hesitate to fill up the stove anyway. You will probably heat yourself out of the room!
