Hello. The heating contractor guys were here and got my chimney installed today. It looks like I can use a 4' and 1' piece of Duravent brand double wall to span from the stove to the ceiling box. Pretty clean and easy. The installer said to cut the pipe coming down from the ceiling support to 3 - 4" That seems ok to me. Gonna give it a go.

Why cut it? !!!
Duravent makes a telescoping piece so you don't have to cut anything. Check out their site and manual. Why isn't you're heating contractor hooking it up, is that in your contract?

That piece hanging down is your slip. I would only cut it if it wouldn't go into the double wall pipe very far. It should though.
