Sound kind of funny but here it is. My fireplace is located in the family room ground floor (16ft x 24ft) and I have a smoke detector 120VAC also in that room. I guess depending on the weather outside sometimes when I light the FP most of the smoke comes inside the room which triggers the detector until the chimney is hot enough to take the smoke out. Although I try to put lots of papers to get the chimney hot and fast it does not always work, To turn off the detector I must turn OFF the breaker and that circuit also has the lights in the family room which does not help.
Perhaps there is a trick?
Thanks
