I stopped by at Woodstock Soapstone about 10 days ago.

The told me the following:

- The EPA has new regulations, so they can't make any new stoves until some new components - I believe these are castings - arrive in July. Earliest pick up or ship date is estimated to be in August. They can't sell anything that isn't in stock until then.

- The Keystone and Palladian stoves are out of stock and will not be sold for the remainder of the year. These have to be redesigned to match EPA regulations before they are made again.

- There may be some of the steel stoves still in stock (they were in stock as of 10 days ago (Ideal and Absolute).

- They don't anticipate pricing going up when they start up in August again.

- The budget bill in Congress passed by the House eliminates the 30% biomass tax credit at the end of this year. If that or a similar version is ultimately passed by the Senate and signed into law, the tax credits will end this year.

New regulations or new testing procedures to meet the current regulations?

My guess is new testing procedures, I know they were working on trying to level the playing field a little there
