Husky 385XP won't start UPDATE

Recently picked up a new, never used 385xp. Ran about two tanks of fuel through it. Ran like a champ. Brought it inside to blow it off with some air. Fresh fuel mix, I have spark. Now she won't start. I checked the obvious, what's next?

You need fuel and spark, see if the plug is wet (flooded) or bone dry (not getting fuel)

Seems very wet. That's just from pulling the cord. Any previous time starting, push in decompression button, pull out choke, pull cord,would generally kick, push in choke, pull again, then it would fire.

Unscrew the fuel tank cap and then tighten it back down

Try first 2 pulls with no choke, before pulling choke out. or try half choke. full choke is to much for my saws unless they are completely cold. on warm starts, no choke at all.

you need fuel, spark and air. you said you are getting spark, you said it's getting wet (fuel, i assume), have you checked the air filter?

Well, monkeyed around abit with it today. Tried no choke with decomp in. Just about fired up right away. A few more pulls, nothing. Pulled decomp out, fired right up.

Bad decomp? Very strange, just afraid to rip the cord out, done that, what a groan to get back together.

Sounds like the decomp valve, it should automaticly release when the saw fires. I dont know if something could be sticking in it

Disassemble and clean, then try again?

Hell, its new...take it in for repair. Warranty is there for this sort of thing.

I had the decomp stick on my husky a few times. I think mostly cause I failed to use it on a regular basis. gave it a couple good push/pulls and a shot of carb cleaner. now that the saw is broken in havent had a problem with it. It would sound like it would almost run with the decomp in, giving a half fire half pfft sound. now that you have heard that sound, you'll recognize that issue again right away!
