Husqvarna 350 on CL

I've read mixed opinions on the 350. It should handle 3-4 cords a year, right?
I'm gonna see it tomorrow. I don't need it but feel CAD a coming on me.

I've ran the snot out of my 350 and it has been a great saw.

The most common issue with these is the muffler bolts loosening and stripping the threads.

Adding a muffler bracket seems to be a good fix if the threads are still good on the unit you have. Ask the seller if he's ever had the muffler bolts come loose, or had to have the threads helicoiled if they did.

$80 for 1st one. Non-running and guy knows NOTHING about it....can't tell me if seized or has compression.

I bought a non running Husky 350 for $50 ( i would not pay $80). No compression, piston and ring were shot.
The crank seals and crankcase were leaking air, the likely cause of the piston damage.
Replaced the seals and piston and ring and was able to restore the cylinder.
Also intake boot seal is a issue, the cheap plastic clamp does not work well, I replaced it with a
metal hose clamp.
Now is is nice running saw.

Thanks, WES999. I was thinking $50, too. And you can get a whole top end (cyl, piston, ring) for $37 from china.

Another example of folks asking very high $ for a pretty basic used saw - nothing wrong with a 350 and can be turned into a 346xp with work, so that makes it nice. I just picked up a 350 with a smoked top end for $40 and may or may not fix - still thinking about it. Cheers!

Moot point - he sold it already. I was typing a text "Non running homeowner saw - be hard to sell. I'll give you $20 and use some parts". First, I looked for ad before hitting send...ad was gone and he replies he sold it. Glad I looked or woulda needed emergency egg offa face extraction. LOL.

I may try this and did some reading a while back - I think the piston is actually 44mm (44.3 I think) and I remember reading that longer cylinder bolts are needed - no other major issues, such as carb change from what I've read - supposed to be one of the more straightforward swaps - but I'd have to read more before I did it to make sure I had the right story. Search on AS for discussions on the conversion - lots of information there about the process. Cheers!
