I have a Vermont Castings Reliance Pellet Stove we've had since 1992 at least, we like it. Back in Summer 2017 we had a new metal roof put on house and our old flue exited stove through sidewall 3 feet and entered a tee with cleanout leg down, and I had 5 three foot pieces (15 feet) straight up to vent cap above carport, this up pipe was flashed to old roof where it pierced it near eave of carport. Was gonna simply replace as this vent was "old" and outer wall of pipe rotted in places.

I did not have new to put in place then, so we just had new metal roof installed, no flue hole. Plan was I was gonna reroute around edge but then I had a relapse and spent fall prepping for a stem cell transplant. Wife and I spent coldest part of winter at hospital, left house main heat on low, it was a mild winter.

Now … winter is nearing. Thinking of running 6 feet of pipe (pell flue pipe, 3 inch dia.) straight out from stove, and using one of those venturie type horizontal ends that feature a 45 degree turn to exit away from carport wall, … I still have some issues with balance, no ladder / roof climbing for me.

This will still exit well clear of fresh air intake I put in years ago.

First off, I hope all is well with treatment.

You mainly need to think of wind direction back there. Pictures might help, but only you know how the wind typically hits. That piece probably will help on calm days, but if it's windy I don't think that's going to do a whole lot. Good luck.

Oh … Thank You. Three MRIs and next one in Nov …. looking good so far, but I contracted or had a break out of shingles down left side while immune system was at lowest, still getting past that too. Relapse I had was at brain stem, affected nerve connections, etc … but could be worse. I just can't do ladder work yet, so looking for simpler flue to get through season approaching. I had a horizontal flue like this but with nearer 20 feet pipe when first put in back in '92, wind was issue, but I had no terminus or end cap then, just screen over end.

I saw these tapered venturie like ends, hoped might help. I may have to go this route, if I do … for sure will report back.
