ideal steel hybrid

I'm in Idaho and looking to purchase a new stove for my 2,300 sq. ft. work shop on our property.

I was looking at the blaze king king,or woodstock progress hybrid.

I also came across the ideal steal hybrid claiming to have the most efficient stove made.

But on blaze king web site they also claim they have the most efficient stove.

Of the three big stoves which one will heat the best on the least amount of wood, have the longest burn times while actually still heating the shop to a comfortable level.

As far as I know BK is the only true cat stove this is the stove which will give you the most even heat output of them all. Probably the longest burn too. Every manufacturer claims their stoves are the best, cleanest burn, longest burn etc. just like anybodyelse who are in business of selling goods.

All of these stoves will heat your shop effiecently. The King can deliver big heat when needed, but can also be turned WAY down when needed. It will also hold a lot more wood! Blaze King will excel in a small area because they are so controllable. Keep in mind if will need an 8" flue and the others take a 6". I was able to obtain the 40 hour burns as they advertised.

If long burn times are a must, then it will compare about the same as any other stove on the market. Not to mention complete controllability.

From everything I've read the steel really cannot compete with the BK. The firebox isn't from a 60 caddy for one so there will be no 40 hour burns. Beyond that they'd probably compare fairly even. Better yet you can buy two for the price of one BK.

You are right on the money Webby. When we bought our King Ultra, the sales lady asked what size of house we had. When we told her 1250 sf, she said, "Oh, you don't want the King, it will run you out of the house." I'm glad we knew enough not to listen to her because her statement simply wasn't true (not faulting her). The air control on the King makes it a perfect fit for a small house like ours, yet is capable of heating a much larger house as well. Unlike another popular stove often talked about (with newer technology), this stove actually has real world, low to high burn range. We have experienced the 40+ hour burn as well, heating our home to 70 f+ with hardwood when the temps were in the single digits at night.

I do want to bring up the flue size though. We are running our King on a 6" pipe and have no issues with it. I have read that others are doing the same thing with no issues as well. I'm not saying everyone should do it because it depends on your draft but it works for us.

What are you doing in the 2300 sq ft shop is it all open , is it insulated?
Tall ceilings?
Do you need it 70 degrees in the shop?
Whats the coldest part of winter for you. I am not form Idaho.
Do you use the shop all the time?

There are several options for you. Might be able to save you money.
