I uploaded a picture of my wood piles to my facebook account the other day and I had a number comments implying that I must enjoy stacking piles of wood more than i do burning the stuff ...!...::-)

I would love to see their reaction to some of the piles on here!

Recent comments from family members about my wood piles were " you'll never burn that much wood". Unfortunately its half gone.

Actually I do. Every Fall I hate seeing the stacks start to shrink.

I would never post my stacks on Facebook.....end up having everybody coming out of the woodwork looking for free wood. Already had a family member contact me for free wood....I said "No" for two reasons....the person has issues with drugs, and can't hold a job (in their mid 30's...time to be responsible), and my seasoned stacks are running on the low side, and I will not waste next years Oak.

Theres always a danger having your "assets" on display.

"cant you put some of that in your trunk and bring it to us when you visit?"

i have given wood to my dad before, but if anyone else asked for wood i'd tell to piss off...!!

Cool . .. I just read "Piss off" . . . but in an Australian accent. It sounds a lot more classy than when said in a Maine accent. ;) :)

There are exactly three people I will share firewood with. The guy I get it from (part of the deal is he gets a share of the bounty), my father, who helps me get wood, and a very good friend, whom I consider to be a grandfatherlike figure. My in laws always try to get some, but never want to help with the harvesting.
