More than just one day a year I remember the men of the 243rd Assault Support Helicopter Company (Freight Train) that did not come home.

The flags are out, the bunting is up and I've put a buck in evey jar that was tilted my way for vet "poppies" this weekend so far.

While no one in my immediate family is a vet, my grandfathers and their brothers were all WWII vets. Somehow my father and uncles were not drafted but there are many friends of the family who did and didn't come home from Vietnam.

I know there are a lot of vets here too so with love in my heart, I raise a glass to all of you too!

I went to two different cemeteries today where my family members were planting flowers at our relatives graves.

I took the kids around and cleaned off dirt and grass clippings from the in-ground grave markers of veterans. Mostly WW 1 and WW2 era. It was the least I could do.
