want to put an insert in but the heatform is largely crumbling rust. Not sure if i should rip out the entire thing or just remove the heavily damaged and crumbling parts ? pics and vid attatched. video is of rust falling out from the back face of the heatform and pics are holes up in corners of smoke shelf

This is a popular question this season. It's the third time it has come up in a month. You can leave it alone unless you need to cut out some of the damper area to clear the insulated liner.
