Ok I have finally got this insert close to ready running 6 feet of stainless rigid pipe up to the first flue tile. The problem is that the pipe is tilted back about an inch and goes into the flue collar on the top of the insert about 2" on the back and1" on the front which has a hole and now a screw to keep the 2 connected however I can see some of the perforation on the pipe in the front. Will this be ok ? If so I could just seal all around the collar and pipe with furnace cement. It is soo close!! I do want things to be safe though and if this doesnt work not sure how to make up the diffence in the tiled pipe as I cant move it any more than it is... HELP!! I have been looking at this insert sitting there for 4 months and just want to take the tags off and burn it!

i dont quite understand your problem. what do you mean preferation. you can use furnace cement for a small crack but it tends to crumble after sometime. just keep applying it. most connectors dont fit snug. The stove will say apply furnace cement. you can burn a stove with a one inch hole in the pipe and smoke will never come out. inspector say if there is a blockage it will come out the crack, but trust me it will come out somewhere if its blocked. right out of your stove! What make model?
It is a tharrington 2100 by buckstove. The problem is the pipe is tilted due to the fireplace not quite lining up with the flue tile so the pipe goes in crooked. You know how a piece of stovepipe is kind of perforated on 1 end? that is what partially sticks out of the stove collar because the pipe is crooked half the pipe is more than all the way in and the other half is only in the collar by about an inch maybe a hair less. I was able to put a screw through it just dont want anything coming apart. Not sure what could make a stainless stove pipe move and come apart but just want to be safe......

15 degree will do it and I found 1 so this should be done soon this weekend I hope. I i had flex pipe then I woulda lined the whole chimney but i got rigid and can only go up 6 feet. the pipe is together and I bet it would be fine but when it comes to fire I dont wanna bet. thanks for the replies and hopefully tomorrow or saturday I can say I am again burning wood.
