Insert Ordered - Thank You!

Well, after "lurking" here for months, I finally ordered an insert! Decided to go with the PE Alderlea T5 insert - DH really liked the 'technical' stuff about it. Me, I'll admit it was about how it'll look in the living room Well, that's not totally true, but it is part of it. My brother has a PE Summit and loves it, and likes the dealer, so that helped. Got a deal on the install, so that helped out with the price.

So, off to pull the permit this morning, and if we get some chilly weather later this month or in March, we may be able to have a few burns. Next step, build a wood shed and get stocked up on wood for next season. We'll be mainly burning on the weekends, I think, but it seems like a lot of folks here say that, and end up burning a lot more - so who knows?

Congrats on the T-5 insert Wendy and welcome to the forum! The T-5 insert is very attractive and I bet you'll burn more than just weekends so you may want to stock on wood now

Congrats on your T5 decision. I'm sure you will love it. We have had ours 3 months to the day & couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks all. Now here I am thinking the hard part (deciding on an insert) is behind me - but Noooooo! Applied for the permit first thing this morning, and I don't think I was out the door of the Building Office 15 minutes before they faxed a Stop Work to the stove dealer. The inspector is asking for lots more info - on everything (liner, stove, you name it). Dealer said they haven't run into this before - guess I just lucked out and got the inspector from h*ll! The actual inspection could be fun (not). :-(

Well, if we don't get the stove installed in time to burn at all this season, we'll be good and ready for next winter. We've already got a good wood supplier - just need to figure out where to store it. Never burned all that much with the open fireplace.

Will post pics once the insert is inserted (whenever that may be)!

"Work" hasn't started yet, you are trying to get the silly permit so the work can start . :shut:

You have a good attitude, it'll all work out.
Get your wood stacked & seasoning so it's ready for next burn season. Hope you get thru the "bureaucracy" soon & have a fire or 2 this season.

Hope you don't need a permit for the wood shed.
