In my case, I called the manufacturer of my prefab zero clearance fireplace. They said no insert or hearth stove was permitted. So, my prefab is gone. It was very easy to get out and I reused the chase for the new chimney and stove. It is a relief. I am glad I had no choice and am rid of any future complications from having an insert in a prefab. YMMV
