Insinkerator top spout broke and replacement part had no brass nut and ferrule for water line connection!

The Insinkerator hot water dispenser is very handy and lasted a long time. I own the original classic design. Recently the top handle broke. Therefore I ordered the new part thru Carroll parts 800-654-3545
Got the new parts and went to install it. The replacement installation is easier because the shutoff spigot to the cold water line is already there. However the new replacement part which is the new Contour style is very similar and mounts the same way but the brass water line is a little thicker. Therefore even though I spent some time very carefully cutting the copper water line and banging off the old brass nut and ferrule it does not fit the new copper water line!
Therefore I called the Insinkerator answer line and they said those parts do not come with the new replacement top!!
The lady said there are no specific part numbers for these parts and they can be purchased fromCarroll Parts or a plumbing supply store.
Does anyone know if Lowes or Home Depot has them or do I have to go to a hardware store or special plumbing supply store?

I tried to use the old ferrule and aha I found it has been compressed and not reusable!
Even more reason to include one in the replacement parts?? !!
I did find a new one for $2.75 at Home Depot!

Yes, those are consumables. I used swagelock a lot for things like this.

Hello
Just got the new spout installed.
The problem with the old one was that when you turned the top handle to turn on the hot water after a while was the whole body would also turn!
The body has a 1/4 x 20 thread post on the bottom with a horse shoe type clip to hold it with a 1/4” wing nut to the sink. Therefore the simple fix is to add a 1/4” C-Lock washer and regular washer to hold it in properly!
Another two parts that should be in the parts of both a new unit and the replacement top.

The struggle was not over yet!
The tank practically fell off the back wall under the sink because the screws were stripped and did not go into the studs. So I got my wall anchor kit and used the red anchors with screws that worked perfectly! Then I purchased at Home Depot a pack of 10 black ring washers 3/8” ID and 1/2” OD which looked like it would fit. Wow - No way would they fit! Back to Home Depot and saw a 10 pack of 5/16” ID x 1/2” OD - No Way
So the only way to get the right one which I found to be 5/16” IF x 7/16” OD and a wall of 1/16” is to purchase a huge assorted pack for $12.97
That washer should come with the replacement parts??

Those red anchors are not good for drywall. Google drywall anchors. Those anchors are for brick, block, or concrete. And if you're screwing into the studs (best indeed), no need.to use anchors. Just long enough screws.

Couple things with your water line connection. The tube insert is unnecessary for copper line, and teflon tape is also unnecessary for a compression fitting.

Neither are terrible but if you had a leak its likely because the insert stopped you from fully sealing the ferrule.

Yes thanks for letting me know. The insert is for plastic lines, but it is not leaking but if it does I will take out the insert.
Those pieces should come with the replacement part with directions.
