Installation Confusion

I am completely new to corn/pellet stoves and I don't know anyone who has one. I read the owners manual several times and then installed my stove. I'm not entirely sure I've done this correctly. I installed my vent with the edge of the thimble about 2 inches away from the edge of my sliding door trim. Manual says 1" from combustibles. Then I read it is not to terminate less than four feet horizontally. Does that mean if I vent it the foot above the door then it falls within the measurements? I took venting and terminating as two separate measurements. One book says it needs to be two feet from and adjacent wall and one says it needs to be three feet. I have it about 2 1/2 feet. As you may be able to tell, the installation area was rather compact as far as obstacles.

The green curtain comes to the edge of the door jamb. The curtain is normally open but I closed it for picture purposes. The vent pipe itself is further from the door and the outside of the thimble is 2 inches from the wood of the door jamb. The vent pipe then extends vertical. And terminates a foot above the sliding door, offset of course.

If it's double wall pipe, you will be fine. Pellet stove exhaust is nothing conpared to a woodstove, especially with double wall pipe. Your exhaust pipe won't even reach 150* surface temps if it's double wall.

It is double wall vent pipe. I wasn't sure what kind of obstacle/problem the sliding door would present for proper installation. The building codes in my area only follow the recommended installation by the manufacturer, nothing more.

I'd be wary of smoke coming in if the sliding door seal is not great.

The vent termination requirements are to prevent to prevent exhaust gasses (notably carbon monoxide) from entering your house from the outside. Inside the house, you're only concerned about clearance to combustibles (assuming that your seals are good).

Can you post an outside photo of your vent, showing all the way up to the roofline? Then the experts here may be able to help. Also, make and model of stove please.

Your manual should have a diagram that looks something like this. Take a close look at the highlighted items, I think those are your primary concern. I can see a door handle in the photo, so I would say you definitely don't meet the horizontal restriction to an opening (item B). Hopefully there's a vertical rise outside, to get your termination high enough above the door (C) but far enough below the roof line (E). My assumption is that your vent needs to terminate in the happy area between areas C and E. If there's a nearby wall outside, then item G might also be an issue. Hope this makes sense.

The vent pipe itself runs vertically 12 inches from the side of the sliding door. It terminates well over a foot about the door and more than five feet below the roof line. Other than how close the verticle pipe is to the opening, I have small doubts about its conformity to the installation requirements.

The stove is an Englander 10-CPM. I'm very impressed so far! It's my county building inspectors that I'm a little leary of...

I just looked at the manual, it says 1 foot above the door for the termination point. You should be good to go. Congrats on the stove! If you like it now, just wait until it gets really cold. Nothing beats walking around barefoot when it;s 10 degrees outside.
