Northwestern, Oh
I was talking to a friend who has a house with a fireplace. The fireplace has doors and vents but no blower.
He doesn't use it much cause it doesn't put out much heat. I mentioned putting a insert in and he would get more heat.
He asked if he put a damper in the chimney if that would help keep heat in. I wasn't sure what to say to him so I figured
I would ask you all for advice. Another question he asked was if he was able to install a damper in a masonary chimney?
What can I tell him.

Definitely no, that would be a good way to smoke himself out.
