Our stove was heavy but a bit less than 700 lbs. You move them carefully, but using commonsense. There are several previous postings on this topic. The solution depends on the house. Some are as easy as strapping it to a dolly. Others require more ingenuity or equipment.

What BG said. Here's my story 700+ lb. Stove.
I backed truck up to nearby rise, removed tailgate. Used old door and bracing for ramp. Wrapped her in cardboard and ratchet strapped to stoutest dolly I could find.2 BIG freinds, I BIG nephew, & I'm no slouch. we still had a heckuva time. If you can remove bricks, door, etc. first, do so. I had a 60 minute window with friends and nephew and had to just go for it. one bud said he used 4x4 posts under his stove as handles, but we didn't have any.

Enjoy!:)

The builder of my house installed my progress hybrid. He used 4 big Tennessee farm boys to pick up the stove and carry it from the back patio to the hearth (approx. 15 feet). It looked to me like they did it with little effort, but my builder said that they were walking funny for about a week afterward. Be careful !!!!!!!

I'm contemplating how to get mine from the garage around the house and down a couple stairs into my family room. I'm either going to rent a heavy duty dolly and get 2-3 guys to help or hire some guys from a local moving company to move it. I thought one guy that hired a moving company said it was $200, money well spent to save your back, knees, hernia etc.

A lot of people here seem to like the Woodstock stoves. The progress hybrid seems like it would work for us, but getting a 700lb stove installed isn't an easy task.
How did you guys get these suckers installed?

Took two of us to slide the main body up a homemade ramp from the trailer to the front door after we took it all apart to get it into the house. I wrote a more detailed description with more pictures on my blog here: http://atheisthomesteader.wordpress.com/2013/11/04/wood-stove-porn/

We might end up installing the Mansfield, I would rather pay the extra $50 and have them put it on the hearth but were looking a month out till there available. We can get in Mon or Tues if we pick it up. HP is at least mid Nov before we could even get it anywhere and then still have to sched and install or delivery to the house/pick up. But the Mansfield is 150lb lighter so hopefully it wont be too bad.

for an extra $50 even waiting a month i would do that for sure. That is really cheap even if they have a good stove cart with a stair climber it is still a real pain with stoves that heavy. When we install ones that heavy we always bring plywood to lay down inside to spread out the load because the wheels can sink into carpet crack tile or dent wood.
