Hello! I am new to the forum, Thank you for being here. I am considering purchasing an wood burning insert. I currently have a heatilator fireplace in a 1957 construction home. I believe is original to the home. The firebox looks relatively intact and am concerned with the heat output from a wood insert, being greater then the original heatilator can handle. The chimney is inside my garage and is cinderblock. The stove will be professionally installed, but would consider the opinions of other professionals. Thank you for your advice!
I have attached several pictures,
Ryan

We put inserts in similar fireplaces all the time

Had my new stove installed today, burning in right now, although my first fire was only two logs it made some heat. Glass temp got to 500... I hope I didnt screw up. Now i was told by the installer to let it get cold and fire it back up with 3 logs instead and let that get going, then let it cool again. After that they told me i am good to go. Pretty excited!
