Hello
After just getting more than 6” in south eastern NH this Saturday morning after getting 24” that never melted we my really be buried by Monday night? Looks like the JackPot area is south of Boston 18-24” !!!
The last storm started Friday night until this morning and the next storm will start Sunday night about 9 PM.
I got are cars lined up on the side of the driveway so the LT1000 with snow blower attachment has a straight shot to clear the driveway. Also just go a new inline fuel filter to replace a clogged one that looks like it had grass in it. Also got the Snow Joe ready for the walkways. What are you guys doing to be ready? Do you have sand or rock salt for cold icy conditions? We get the same sand salt mix the town uses at the town landfill for free. :-)

Crazy winter for sure. I'm in the Hudson Valley in NY. I have personally never seen a winter this bad here that I can remember. I'm 34 so I can only remember back to the late 90s. For weeks here it was a high in the upper teens to low 20s and lows around -10. Been pretty fortunate to have a warm up the past week and a half otherwise we to would be buried. That last January Nor easter dropped 26" of snow here. Here we go again crazy.........

So funny watching people get a little snow... Let me know how you deal with 4 feet in a 24 hour period...LOL... I remember as a kid i lived at the detroit border and major snow falls were the common back then and no one blinked a eye

Well, they have us at 2 ft now. In less than 24 hrs. And winds up to 65 mph.

Call that little or not, it's going to affect things. Even if only my back from shoveling my driveway...

Then again it's funny watching people get a little heat and humidity in summer. A decade ago I was mowing in 100% humidity at 100+ F.

Goes to show all is relative.

The good thing about all that snow on NYC is it’ll really wash the place out when it melts, lol.

We’re supposed to get 3” or so. I’m not overly worried about. If we get more, so be it. It’ll eventually melt.

If the area you live in is equipped to have 4ft in 24hrs then so be it but when areas that only get 40 something inches a year get over half that in 24hrs and that's happened twice with in a few weeks kinda a big deal. Wind out of the South East now ramping.up Maybe Mamdani can tax the snow into submission and it will move south like everything else

Lol,. should give that a rofl.and thumbs up

It's been snowing for 4 hrs or so and just now it starts to stick. Ground was pretty warm from yesterday.

For me, getting ready for winter is having more than enough firewood than I need.

Deal with whatever comes as it comes.
I like having my pellets stacked in the garage instead of going to buy them. I had 140 when I started, but I have gone through about 2/3

12-18" forecast here, pretty typical snow storm but the difference is we're expecting 30+ mph winds with this one. I've boarded up the barn windows best I can but there are still some holes where I'm sure some will blow in. Brought in a week's worth of firewood and got plenty of gas for my snowblower and generator if needed. Popped up the wipers on the cars so they don't get frozen to the windshield. Otherwise not much preparation to do, filled the bird feeders and took out the compost early so I don't have to trudge through the snow tomorrow, lol

5" on the ground here,. quickly increasing.
Wind is increasing too but nothing bad yet.
Latest forecast is 17-24".

Travel ban in place from 9 pm to 9 am.
Luckily the wife had a day off tomorrow so no early trip to the hospital thru 1-2 ft of snow

Was pretty calm when I turned in around 930 last night light snow some light wind. Woke up at 330 and there is about a foot out there wind is cranking. The Polaris 570 is going to have some work to do. We are right on the edge of heavy mesoscale banding 10 miles north of me they have a few inches crazy. Already told the boss man my crew is home for the day hard to weld 70ft up in 40mph blowing snow.

Just another day in Paradise!

Meanwhile people in Florida are rushing to the stores for air conditioners and sun block. (I just made that up)

We've about 6 inches so far and winds 20-30mph. 28 F out with real feel / wind chill of 9. I have no intentions of going outside today except to clear the snow around our back door and to let the dog out. The yards fenced in. He doesn't need me. Just to open and close the door.

The good news is March is only 6 days away! Some of the worst storms we've been through were in March and April.

I Second the fenced in yard deff a life saver lol Hardest part is getting the dogs in from the snow they are cold weather dogs hate the heat but man do they love this snow. I can remember a few Saint Patty Day storms that were for the books. Worst I can remember damage wise (snow storm) was the Halloween 12 inch plus storm that crippled this area from downed trees and wires. I will never forget that storm.

We have nice views here.
The triple pane doesn't melt the snow...

Just a dusting for us. I’m working on the Mass line today. Hopefully the roads stay clear.

Neighbor across the street is a manager at a fast-food restaurant, has to leave at 6 am.
Shoveled to his car but with 5 ft snow (drift) on the unplowed road, he's not going anywhere.

Nice structure outside of the sunroom

Newfoundland around the St John's area gets lots of snow. I have seen pictures of snow in PEI and level was 12ft where
they cleared a road. There is a guy standing on top of a plow, and the bank was still taller than he was.

No one is equipped to handle 4 ft in 24 hours unless maby you are living up in alaska or something. I went 48 hour strait pushing show in the park i live at.. Even busted the window out of the skid steer i was piling it so high and a chunk of ice cab over the edge..
