Is my P68 Harman hot enough to put a tea pot on top for some room humidity or is it a waste? I haven't run my stove yet, so I don't know if it gets that hot or not.

Nope, it gets pretty hot but not cooking hot.

It will evaporate the water. we put a ceramic bowl from the inside of a broken crock pot on the stove and have to fill it every two days.
She puts a minty pine or something sent to it. Does it boil or humidify the room? NO ask the cats when I go to pet them:)

You can see the steamer pot I have on mine in my picture. If the stove is running hard, I can fill it up twice a day. It doesn't make any noticeable change in humidity, but if you throw in some cloves and an orange peel it smells nice. Better than the stinky kid/dog smell that we usually have going on, at least:-)

It will heat up a tea kettle and keep it warm, depending on how hot the stove is, but I don't think that you'll get any humidification benefits out of it.

BTW, some friends of ours did cook on their p-68 when their power was out during hurricane Sandy. Not sure what they had- maybe a stew or beans.
