As the title says, is there any way to soften old, hard carb gaskets? Saw something about soaking them in a wintergreen oil and rubbing alcohol solution... Anyone tried that?

Thanks!

I've tried soaking 2 cycle carb metering diaphragms in brake fluid. Can't say it made them more pliable, tho. Might be worth a try on a gasket. For 4 cycles, I have a sheet of gasket paper and cut a new one with scissors, razor blade and hole punch.
