Yes there is always oil wars on the forums
And the "experts" on the forums that work on saws, woods port them, and modify them always prefer 32:1
Same experts warentee their work on used and modified saws so i chose to take their expertise and apply it to my tools with zero worry about mix ratio's
EPA can shove their ratio's right up their modified exhaust

I just bought 3 cases of Amsoil 2 cycle oil good to 100:1 they say
I will be using it at my preferred 32:1 even though it is near to the best oil you can buy.
It was cheaper than buying a piston

Where do you guys get the amsoil from?

If you are buying a fair amount of Amsoil products, it might be worth looking at joining their preferred customer program and buying direct from Amsoil. It costs $20/year to join, but the +/-25% discount can make up for that if you are buying enough of their products. I makes sense for me since I by some special oil for my antique truck by the case (12 qts), saving me $48 per case. I don't use their 2 cycle mix oil, since I prefer to buy Husqvarna XP+ locally, but I do use other Amsoil products from time to time.

Scroll down on their home page for info on the preferred customer program.

I got it cheap from the brother of a dealer, he had 1/2 dozen cases. He sold me 3 at $25.00 a case

I find mine at a local convivence store commonly frequented by snowmobilers.
The NAPA near me carries the Interceptor but I prefer the Dominator over it.

Since I like their products, I may look into this.

I been waiting to fire this thing up (my new Husky 550XP MkII), so use up a jug of ethanol-infused gasoline, and finally did so.

It's damn impressive. - cuts through logs like a hot knife thru butter. Doesn't start that easily though - probably requires 10 pulls when cold, and two when warm. My 41-year old Shindaiwa actually does better, on both counts, after I did a lot of work on it last winter; but it doesn't cut as well.

Hit the primer bulb. Mine usually starts in 4 pulls when cold.

This is what is the byproduct of corn alcohol gas.
I have switched to using just alcohol free gas in all my small engines. We can buy it at the pump in a few places.
Filled the chainsaw gas can and three other cans for the generator. Hopefully we will not need it for the ice we are supposed to get tonight.

One of Husky's best sellers. They're built tough and made well.
I used it a lot with one of the outfits I frequent for work. They're primarily Husky fan boys. Although, every tree company has a Stihl 500i and an MS 201tc.....every tree company.....

That said on the 550XP, they are a bit heavy. This is in comparison to Stihl's MS 261 c-m. Also a 50cc class saw. I use the 261 as my crane saw when I ride the ball. Light, nimble, and powerful.
Anyways, that 550 will last you a lifetime with proper care.
Congrats.

No doubt. Hey, my other saw, a Shindaiwa 415, has lasted me most of a wood-cutting lifetime, being 42 years old and still running great (although I did a fair amount of work on it last winter). Not nearly as powerful as the Husky though.
