Is this going to be an issue

So I changed the board and use to have a black wire ESP but being that I have an upgraded board I purchased the red wire ESP(some suggest is was better then black . Being the red wire is a bit thicker I was drilling out the whole broke the protective cover. ( not sure if that’s all it is or it actually has a function other than protecting it )Should I just scrap this thing I’m just about done. Harman accentra free standing

Just fired the stove up and all seems to running okay without the shield/cover

Most of the older Harmans didn't have that protective sheath and ran well. Glad the Accentra is working well.
