I have a Regency I2500 Insert. At the top center is a bar to Engage the Cat. It Slide in. I have noticed if I am at the right angle, that I can see the glow of the flames around the engaging bar. Is this normal? I am assuming that this is another source of Air to get into the box. Should there be some sort of gasket to seal that off, or is that by design?

My stove is setup the same way; I’m sure it’s normal and accounted for in the stove design. My parts list doesn’t show any gasket for the slider. I can occasionally see my catalyst glowing by looking through there.
