We need a photo of the end grain or a fresh split or both. My initial response is Ailanthus aka Tree of Heaven. Leaves would help too but might be a little early for that...
I can tell more by the piece standing on end on the ground. Looks like the center is green, if it is, it's Poplar.
It was white all the way through no green...I can tell more by the piece standing on end on the ground. Looks like the center is green, if it is, it's Poplar.

Ok thanks a ton! What do you mean when you say shoulder season?I still say Ailanthus then. Probably comparable in BTUs to poplar. Shoulder season wood.

Shoulder season is now basically. When the temps are in the mid 30s to 40s at night, and 50s-70s during the day when you mostly just burn at night and not 24-7.
2B or 1B?Thats 78 size washed gravel.
Glad I could help.
Either way, it will burn poorly...2B or 1B?
Yea very thinI have to agree with tree of heaven. How thick is the bark? If it has nearly no bark it is 100% TOH.
easiest splitting I've ever done...is it ok firewood? It's tree of heaven. I just cut one. It looked exactly the same. It splits like butter.
