Hi all,

We like to use view the fire in our Vigilant in the evening, but I am having trouble keeping the temperature from dropping quickly once doors are open. Last night I tried getting the temperature up to ~650, just before “Too Hot,” by adding a charge of several mid-sized logs. A nice fire upon opening, but after 15/20 minutes temp was back down to 400.

Any tips?

With the doors open you suck way too much cool room temperature air into the fire, cooling it down.

The best way to keep the stove temp up is to close the doors.
