Jacketed v. Nonjacketed?

I've been wondering, what are the real world differences between two identical fire boxes, one being jacketed, the other not? Take the Drolet Austral/Legend, as an example. If I'm looking for a stove to use as space heat for my entire home, is there any difference in the ability of either to do so?
