Went and picked up a Princess ultra this morning and have it up and running. I don't think I can say enough good stuff about this stove. Fired it up and got it to "cruise" and haven't looked back, a world apart from the add on wood furnace we had. We burn mainly white oak and cherry due to availability. I am still on a learning curve and ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. I bought a BK because of this sight before I even joined. I researched several other stoves and got lucky enough to land this one. The only concern I have right now is my blower runs all of the time, I've tried to shut it off and cant't get it done. I have emailed BK about it and hopefully they can direct me to the cure. The house still smells from the first fire but I'm sure that will go away quickly. This site has been so helpful and any tips or mtricks would be geatly appreciated. Thank you.

The blowers turn off with the knob turned all the way counterclockwise. High is as soon as it is turned on. If you're turning correctly, there's some wires wrong in there. If you're a self-help guy, it isn't that hard to figure out. I don't think they are using the snap disk anymore, so the blowers will turn on regardless of stove temp.
The only advice I can give is to burn dry wood. The stove pretty much runs itself.

My Ashford fan can't be turned off at the knob. You have to unplug it. I mounted a dedicated outlet on a switch.
Why would BK do this? A 110v switch would be much better vs unplugging, and a cheap feature.

Don't ask me, but there is no switch that I know of. Just a dial that does not have an off position.
It's supposed to shut off. If it doesn't, something is wrong with the rheostat.

Well I feel foolish. It does turn off, but you have to turn it up.... Given my alcove install, we never reach back there much. I just use the wall switch.

BK not having a switch to turn the newer stoves off did sound crazy!
Tried turning it all of the way counterclockwise and I can feel a tighter spot in the dial but it still doesn't shut the fans off. I will just wait and see what BK says. Not a big deal.

People say they are boring to run, but to me this is a great feature. I burn from October 1st to late April non-stop and if a wood stove required a lot of work I maybe would get burned out 
.
Actually I'm serious on this bit and it is why I recommend stoves with long burn times almost exclusively. For anyone serious about heating their home with wood (and isn't retired) it is tough not recommending a stove that can run at least 10 hours.

My wife likes this feature, as well. I find myself burning small loads when I am home because it is more entertaining.
She does okay with the PE, but isn't as comfortable with it. Something about not being able to turn a knob and have the flames go out, or something like that. Boring in the aspect of zero pucker factor is a good thing
My wife and I say bring on the boring. It doesn't seem to have the peaks and valleys of other stoves we have had before, just nice steady even heat. I loaded it up this morning and it's still cooking along keeping our house nice and toasty (78). We obviously have more to learn but are very happy so far. I'm loving the boring part of it, 5 hours in to a load of wood and the house has remained a steady temperature and the cat temp gage hasn't changed much either. I can look up into the stove and see the cat glowing so I assume everything is fine. I'm loving the boring part.
