Jotul Remote not Working

Jotul Allagash GF 300DV IPI

This is the second remote in three years. just shows tempature and a lock icon. Not lit up, not responding to any button pushing. Any ideas?

On a related topic, I understand I can get a wall thermostat for this product. Anyone have any experiece with them?

I am grateful for your thoughts.
