I just got a load of logs delivered. They said it'd be a mix of oak, ash, and sugar maple. But when the delivery man showed up, he told my wife it had a bunch of smooth-bark hickory & asked if that was ok. It doesn't look like hickory to me, and I don't think smooth bark hickory even grows in Minnesota so I am a little skeptical. Definitely there's some oak in there, I can see the leaves. But does anyone know what these smooth-barked logs are? Here are a bunch of pictures:
