Ok...Thank you so much for all the replies. I knew there was a learning curve to some of this and knew the wood I was getting probably wasn't really seasoned enough. I'll start checking individual pieces for moisture from here on out.

Just know that to get a correct reading you need to check a freshly split piece at room temp. Look for some pallets or construction lumber (not pressure treated) to mix in with your wet wood on startup for a hot fire to dry the wet wood.
