I've tested the temperature differential between the loft and the mainfloor with and without the fan.
I meant between the very top of the room (not the loft) and the floor. I suspect heat may get trapped there.
Are you running the fans in reverse, i.e. blowing toward the ceiling? That would mitigate that.

Ah, yes, there's heat trapped at the ceiling directly above the stove.

And yes the fans are reversed to push air up.

I'll see what I can do to improve air circulation, but the fan kit is likely in my future.
