I picked up a good used FA Dutchwest 264CCL, after using a pretty poor 2nd generation steel insert all last year.

I've never used a stove with a combustor/catalyst before, so perhaps this is a foolish question, but -- how do you utilize the combustor for a long / overnight burn?

Does the fire just smother itself if the combustor temperature falls lower than 600 degrees?

Thanks!

Do you have the manual? That is where I would start.

Here is the manual for the stove.
