Has anyone had good luck with the Lee Energy Pellets? I live within 1 hr of there plant and can pick up a ton for 178.00$ and that includes tax. The reviews I have read in other threads are not very promising.
During the pellet shortage Lowes was selling them, in a panic I bought a ton...WORST PELLET I'VE EVER BURNED, week later Bought some GS, 2nd worse pellet, Sold the Lee's on craigslist quickly
I am anticipating that next fall Craigslist will be ripe with private pellet sale ads from the stashes of 10-20 ton haorders whose pellets have absorbed moisture all summer and are clinker heaven material. Hoping to burn my last bag mid-May.
Unless pellets have direct contact with water they will be fine. Summer doesn't change the quality at all.
Depends on the quality of packaging I believe. Not all bags are created equal between brands and one can tell sometimes when picking them up. I am sifting through bags of Green Supremes that obviously were compromised with moisture but the bags are intact with no holes so somehow the moisture permeated in there. There are such varied experiences with GS that moisture may be playing a role. In my case, the bags were stored in a detached garage with no heat source for one year, so they were under cover but not in a controlled environment (heated basement).
