I am looking at purchasing one of the two stoves and wanted to see if anyone had any strong opinions one way or another. I am looking for opinions on the reliability of each stove (I checked the reviews and found a few good reviews on both stoves). Cat (VC) vs Noncat (ES), burn rate comments and burn control comments, etc...

Based on the specs it seems that they have similar BTU outputs, but the ES has a smaller footprint.

My house is a single story ~ 1400 sq ft open concept. My hope is to heat most if not all of my house with one of these stoves. I cut and own my own wood so access to fuel is not an issue.

I am new to wood stove's in general so your thoughts are appreciated!
