I installed a Lennox Brand ME43 fireplace in 2009 (Iowa) and have been reading about different EPA regulations and State regulations dealing with wood burning units. This unit was also sold as a Security HE43 - the only difference being the brand name.

Reading through the EPA.gov site - I assume I do not need to worry (as of yet) about the emissions?

I tried to find current (or previous) emission testing on the ME43 fireplace - but only found the testing on the Security HE43 - 2. I could not tell that there is any difference between my model (HE43) and the HE43-2 version - except for the Phase 2 EPA claim:

How (or where) do I find what my emission rating (2008 Lennox ME43) ?

For a much broader question - Should I be worried?

Should I be worried?

Is there a new local law regarding emissions going into effect? Did you read something that gave you cause for concern? What makes you worry?
