Let the fires begin (first burn in my Alderlea T6)

Finally! My chimney was installed today and got the first burn going shortly afterwards. I got her up to 100 degrees and let her die out. I let it cool and have the second burn going as we speak. Can't wait to open her up this weekend. I know I know, I have pics. LOL. Let me know what you think of the chimney install.

Yes, it is for the radon mitigation system for the basement. Part of living in the granite state. LOL. The chimney design was the only option the chimney guy would do for us. Never saw one installed that wasn't straight up. I do like that it exits just above the roof peak and not sticking out by itself for 15 feet. That side of the house can't be seen by anyone, so the wife and I are the only ones that have to look at it. LOL. It does have a good draft so far though.

Here in Iowa just about every house built without a vent/breathable basement fails and needs a system. Our house has one but we were able to run the 4" pipe out the garage area and not up the side of the house. There are a few houses around here like yours as well going on the outside .

We had our first fireplace fire last night.
