We just finished our first season with our Lopi Evergreen insert, and the door handle is peeling in a couple places. Will this become an issue later on? I'm not sure why the paint didn't even last a full season. Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening?

Contact your dealer and send pictures. They’ll get you a replacement. Had issues with my freestanding Evergreen handle and it was replaced without question.

Is your handle getting too hot? If the latch doesn’t have a firm hold, it might be from the gasket compressing from use. This will allow too much air into the fire box and over firing the stove. To adjust the latch, use a 7/16” box wrench to loosen the nuts and scoot the latch back, then re-tighten and test.

If nothing else works, you can easily pull off the handle with a large Philips screwdriver through the hole at the end. Use the paint that came with the stove (or any flat black high temp spray paint) and give it a sanding and another coat.
