Lopi Leyden Wireless programmable TStat Recommendations

FS Lopi Leyden owners any recommendations on a wireless TStat? I am have finally grown weary of waking up drenched with sweat when a warm front moves in overnight and want maximize the use of the stove by applying proven technology. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and any pitfalls to avoid.

I actually have seen them and have one on my Amazon wishlist, I just now have realized how much they have come down in price. I also wanted to see what other Lopi Leyden owners were using. So based on this I assume that you are happy with your decision? Anything that you learned about the installation that you could share?

Very happy. Mine was 95 bucks back in 2009. Install simple. Connect two connectors onto terminals on control board and stick receiver to left side of stove at bottom with velcro (not included). Install stat in a convenient location where temp will give a good average within ~20 feet of stove or so. Change batteries 1x year.

I have the P1 with LCD (no back light) - wish I had the P2 backlit one. I see it on Amazon 98 bucks.

Thanks Richkorn, one other question, perhaps one of the biggest reasons why I have not installed one is that my Leyden runs poorly on the lowest setting. It will generally snuff itself out, do you find this to be true? Does this affect your set up as I assume there are extended periods on low burn with a TStat?

I usually don't run mine below #3 setting (heat and fan). Not enough air wash at low and glass gets dirty real fast. I set stat to a 2 degree swing so if set for 68 it would kick on the stove at 66 and off at 70. Yeah the stove goes on and off a more often during these shoulder times so it is harder on the igniter. When it's real cold out it can run all day at setting 3 and not reach that 2 deg swing cutoff until I bump up the stove temp/fan. Just play with it and find what works the best. The program is nice because you can set it back at night and program to come on again an hour before you get up to warm the place up. In Winter I use Program Mode and set it back to 64 at 11pm and then up to 70 at 5am.

Had a cheapo thermostat installed when I had the stove installed. Worked great, was accurate but by the second year on my Leyden, the ignitor chit to bed . So, I set the oil at 62 when we go to bed & we only use a smitchen of oil. Set the oil at 70 when I get up for 15 minutes or so while I start the stove. Been doing it for a few years now & I'm quite satisfied
