[Hearth.com] Lopi Stove ID Needed

I am looking at a stove on craigslist for a friend. The seller doesn't want to pull it out to give the model and date to me. Can you tell me what model Lopi this is?

I wouldn't be interested if the seller won't let you take a look at the back.

If it’s a Revere, it’s an older model. The current models of Lopis all seem to have the bypass damper in the top center. Here’s a picture of our old Revere purchased in 2011.

I can understand the seller not wanting to pull it out until someone is on hand who is serious about a purchase. I would ask for measurements as that will give you more idea of which model it might be comparable to. I’d also want to know if it has secondary burn tubes in the top or if your looking at more of a classic pre-EPA stove. (I am in no way a Lopi expert, just trying to throw out suggestions which can help you learn whether it’s even worth a visit.)

Considering it has no bypass I’d say it’s a Lopi answer. That second control on the top right side is for secondary air, that makes the unit pretty old. How much are they asking? Old enough it maybe have been designated a model number rather than a name. Like 380-96 for instance..

It's a Lopi Answer made in 1984. It has a surround and blower but one of the motors is out. It looks like it has been taken care of just needs sone work. They want $300 for it. Is that a fair price?

Hmm, I just got an Avalon Rainier in near mint condition from 2003 for $267. I know it is not a Lopi, even though they come form the same parent company, but.....just saying.

Offer $200. Motors are expensive and if this stove still has steel tubes they will need stainless replacements eventually.
