My system (installation in progress) consists of an EKO 40 and two 500 gallon (old propane) tanks storage. I put the boiler in my garage so that I don't have to carry wood trough the house. I decided to use a plate heat exchanger between the boiler and tanks, mainly so that I would not need enough antifreeze to treat the 1000 gallons of storage, just enough for the boiler loop. BTW, the tanks are insulated and buried below the frost line, so no need for antifreeze in the storage tanks.
Since there was no good way to clean out the tanks before installation, I want to install a filter on the tank (storage) side of the heat exchanger.
What filter housings are available that can take the hot water temperature (~190F), but produce low pressure drop (obviously depends on the filter)? I'd like to stay away from stainless to minimize cost.
