Lowes to get 1 last trailer load for the season

Talked to the Mgr at Lowes in Seekonk Ma. they have a trailer of Green Team and a trailer of Green Supremes in stock. They are getting one more load and their contract is up for the season.and their not getting anymore pellets AT ALL. So he said thats it once that load arrives the price per ton will be at their max sale price ( whatever that is i dont know he didnt say )
Said they have to renegotiate a new contract and that is never quick
He also said we sold double the amount of pellets as of right now then the whole last season
i was there about 2 weeks ago all they had was Infernos about 40 to 50 ton their all gone ( those poor people )

I hope that's not the case in NH, I know a few people that always wait until the last minute to buy pellets.

really? i doubt that is the case why would you not stock something that is almost out of stock.

that would be like sorry we are out of grass seed in the spring and plan on not getting anymore for the season.


I'm sure your friend may be right. And people just go to home depot or there local pellet house instead and they wonder why we would not stock them amy more.

Like i said just passing along what i was told. He isnt my friend was just talking with him while my wife shopped. J the sites infamous pellet tester has mentioned here a few times about a fiber shortage, this would all fit in imo. And if lowes had a contract for X amount of pellets at X amount and supplier already filled their contracted supply They arent obligated to fill anymore orders. And considering Green Supreme are NEWP's that sell at the Stove shops for 250/270 per ton maybe the supplier want to keep that end of their sales higher,or need the product to fill their contract obligations. Its no secret that lowes/home depot can buy at a cheaper price. We all speculate here we are the public/retail we arent suppose to know whats going on
I was also at TCS yesterday and saw quite a few new pellet stove owners buying a few bags. yes i talked to them all lol. so as it appears more and more people are going this route everyday. Making demand for a product and you know what that means price increasing. I for see a tractor trailer load in my future It should of been this spring when pellets were cheaper, maybe J can convince his buddy ( ) to hook me up with a load since i mentioned wanting a whole load he don't reply anymore lol

I work in dispatch for a trucking company. We haul a fair amount of pellets each year. Actually we seem to haul more each winter then the winter prior. We do haul to HD & Lowe's stores. Rarely do we go to the same store twice in a season.

One of my driver talked to a manager at a Lowes store last week. He asked him how much they were charging for pellets. The price was just under $5.00 a bag. He asked if they gave a discount if a ton were bought. The manager said, nope the price is the same by the bag or by the ton. With that attitude, I would think they would be lucky to sell the 22 ton's we took to them.

For me, it would have to be a screaming deal to pass on my "Clean Burns" for $4.36 per bag (tax included). About the only brands I have used that I would buy with no questions asked is Bear Mountain or Eagle Valley. Both bring higher per ton costs (unless you shop around).

On another note, one of my driver did pick up a couple bags for me to test out. Came from a mill in Prineville, Oregon. We hauled 5 loads out last week going to Del's Farm Supply Stores (Owned and operated by Tractor Supply).

That's some expensive heat!

no its not cheep to barge pellets to Alaska from the states. 300/175 =about 30 a pallet proffit
