Glad you found the problem. I think you will find the whine will gradually go away as the stove breaks in. It is likely a result of tight clearances between the agitator rod and the bushing. I ran my stove with no lube for over a month before it started "whining". Now, I add a touch of lube during my weekly cleanings and haven't heard any noise since. I also had good luck with dry graphite powder.
